The Lease Negotiator - Change

A sad week this week.  I lost someone really close to me.  It’s been hard emotionally with lots of reflection and reminiscing.  Sometimes life throws challenges at you and probably no more so than over the past 12 months.

I feel very fortunate to be a glass half full kind of person and no matter how difficult a situation, I will search for the positives out of it.  Whilst sometimes easier said than done I believe it’s how you deal with these situations that makes you stronger.

Time moves on and change is inevitable.

Lots of businesses have also gone through this process over the past 15 months.  As the economy continues to open up, as we come further out of lockdown, businesses have been forced to change what and how they deliver their services/products to their customers.  Many with amazing success.

How we work has changed, especially in the service and professional sectors.  The traditional 9-5 in an office 5 days a week has gone and will be replaced by flexible working where staff will continue to have the option to work from home part of the week.

There are considerable benefits to this, although this change will appeal to some and not to others.

How businesses change will have an effect on the commercial property sector.  And as tenant’s needs and demands change, landlord’s will need to adapt their offerings to remain competitive.

However hard at the time, change can be embraced.
